This year the theme of the meeting is Connecting Data for Health

WHO has designated a number of Collaborating Centres, NGO and other partners, to contribute to the work on the development, dissemination, maintenance and use of the WHO Family of International Classifications to support national and international health information systems, statistics and evidence. I take great pleasure in inviting you and the delegation from your centre to the next annual meeting of the World Health Organization Family of lnternational Classifications (WHO-FIC) Network, which will take place in Mexico and this year the theme of the meeting is Connecting Data for Health.

Monday 16 to Saturday 21 October 2017, at the World Trade Center, Mexico City.

Objectives of the WHO-FIC

Improve health through the provision of health information

Provide a conceptual framework of information domains for health-related classifications

Provide a set of approved classifications for defined private purposes

Promote proper selection of classifications in a wide range of options in the health field around the world

Define a common language to improve communication

Allow comparisons of data within and between States Member

Stimulate research on health and the sanitary system
